3 easy steps
- Get together with your friends and decide what your Pink Thing will be.
- Register your event online here and create your own personal event page.
- Encourage everyone to get involved and pledge money on your event page.
How it works
Dye your hair pink, have a pink dress-up day, hold a pink dinner, talk your local sports club into wearing pink socks for a match - you can raise funds virtually any way you choose under the Pink Thing. All funds you raise contribute to the fight against breast cancer.
Once you’ve decided what you’re doing, start setting up your Pink Thing by clicking the button above. Our events team review your event to check it meets our fundraising guidelines and supports the aims of Cancer Council - there’s unlikely to be a problem. We then send you a letter authorising you to raise funds on behalf of Cancer Council and a Pink Thing kit to help you make the most of your event.
After that, you can set up an online fundraising page specially for your Pink Thing. As well as collecting donations supporting the event, this page can monitor attendees, and provide running totals for you and your supporters. Click here to see a demo.
Once your Pink Thing is over, we'll send you a letter of thanks with the amount raised, plus a certificate for you to keep and share with your event attendees, team of helpers & donors.
OYSTER QUEENS RAISE FUNDS FOR BREAST CANCER
Why not find the fundraising queen of your community and raise money in the process? That’s what happened when Brisbane Water Oyster Festival introduced a Festival Queen competition. Each entrant raised a minimum of $500, increasing funds through local business sponsorship and ticket sales to the Grand Ball. Free publicity came from the local radio and newspaper. In 2008 the Queens raised $41,340, revealing that true beauty comes from doing something worthwhile.
